Cause for Canines is a volunteer based all-breed dog rescue founded in Central Ohio. We are committed to the rescue of homeless dogs, dogs given up by their owners due to difficult circumstances or those in danger of abuse or neglect, and dogs in shelters that are at risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to find safe, loving, committed and permanent homes for the dogs we take into rescue. All of our dogs are placed in foster care and receive any necessary medical care and treatments and are spayed/neutered and microchipped, while waiting for their forever homes.

Pack Walk

Open to all! Bring your dog on a 6 foot (or shorter) leash and have fun walking and talking with other people while your dog gets to spend some time socializing in a pack. The only rule is dogs should stay 3 feet apart at all times. If you want to let them play afterwards we are right by the dog park. The walk will take 1 hour or less. This is a great quiet park! We will meet by the dog park then walk on the bike path. If you have a young or old dog and aren't sure if they can walk that far this is a good walk to try because you can stop for a break and we can loop back around to get you. If you have a reactive dog this is also a good walk for you as it is not very busy. PLEASE RSVP

Adoption Event with Apache

Adoption Event with Apache

Apache is the sweetest little puppy there is! She is a gorgeous Hound and Husky mix who was born August 12, 2016.

She was diagnosed with Canine Megaesophagus at 10 weeks but has come so far from first being diagnosed! She used to need a Bailey Chair to eat but she no longer does, all Apache needs these days is to be fed with her standing with her front feet on a kitchen chair which she is very happy to do.

She has been weaned off all medications! We are hoping since Apache has made so much progress in such a short time that she will eventually be able to overcome her MegaE and eat like a normal pup.

Apache LOVES peanut butter, Knox blocks, playing with her furry foster sisters and brothers, playing tug of war and catch. She loves to give sloppy puppy kisses and snuggles. Although Apache is a special needs pup she loves life to the fullest and does not let her MegaE slow her down. She loves to go on walks and even runs with her foster mom! Other than the way that she has to eat she is a normal dog!

Apache gets along with all other animals she has met, is kid friendly, potty and crate trained, although she does not need to stay in a crate anymore!

Adoption fee $250, apply to adopt at causeforcanines.org

Adoption Event with Christopher

Come out to Captivating Canines to meet Christopher!
Christopher is a wonderful Boxer and possibly Pit mix. He is about 1-2yrs old and such a good dog.

Christopher is such a friendly guy! He loves every person he has even met, even the vet! He needs to be the only pet though. He is active and fun, would love to have an active family to play with him. Christopher even walks well on a leash.

Please go to causeforcanines.org to fill out an application to adopt or foster. If you have any questions please email causeforcaninesrescue@gmail.com.
