While it’s our goal to adopt our doggies into loving homes, sometimes they come to us in pretty rough shape. We value our veterinarian partners and their opinions, and some dogs are just better kept as hospice dogs within the rescue. They will be given the medical care and special diets that they need, and their loving homes will come in the form of their foster parents to live out their golden years. We just love our hospice friends, and we can’t wait to share their stories with you. Please check back soon for more details!

If you would like to donate specifically to our hospice dogs, we have created an Amazon wish list just for them! Please see our link above, and thank you in advance from our hospice crew!

Charlie

Hi, my name is Charlie! I know what you’re thinking..."OMG! He is SO adorable!" and you know what, you’re right! My forever foster mommy says I am the cutest squishy tushy puppy ever made.

No one really knows how old I am but it is safe to say I am between 15 and 20 years old. I am a Shihtzu (mix) who is essentially blind and deaf. I have severe cataracts so I only see shadows and am seriously hard of hearing. Don't let that make you feel sorry for me though! I am spoiled rotten and a super happy little camper who gets around great with my nose and knowing my home very well.

I love going to the dog park and guilt tripping all the nice people into snuggling with me (they fall for it every time! 😉). I get so happy when it is nice out and get to go on walks. Sometimes I only make it a few doors down before mommy has to carry me but other times I get extra energy and manage the whole walk!

Mainly I love a good nap, snuggling with my foster siblings and giving the cat kisses. I love kissing the cat so much that her head ends up soaking wet, but she doesn't mind one bit 😽

My weirdest quirk is that I live for digging! Before I can lay down I must dig...dig, dig, dig, dig, dig in the bed before I can settle down and relax. Be it mommy's bed, a dog bed or the carpet. I have been known for dig so fiercely that I rip holes in my doggy beds! Many of the beds in our house have patches holding them together 🥴🤭

Momma

Momma is a spunky senior mystery mutt who greets every day with enthusiasm. She loves to get back scratches, going for walks to sniff every inch of grass, and bark from the front window at the world passing by. She takes multiple daily naps with her tongue sticking out and loves to stretch out in her favorite heated orthopedic bed. All in all, she’s just a quirky gal who keeps her foster mom smiling.

Tippy

Tippy was chained to a box the first 12 years of his life. The walls had caved in and the floor of his dog box was some boards and some dirt. The humane officer had to become involved to remove him from the now abandoned property after there was a fire there. He was in the shelter for about 10 days before he went to a medical foster home. He had an open bleeding wound that was removed. The results came back cancerous. Tippy is such a happy, carefree little old man. If you didn’t know he was 12 or see his frosty muzzle, you would think he was a 5 year old with all of his spunk! He leaps up on the couch as if he wears a cape like Superman and showers us with kisses. He had his first holiday with us and enjoyed some ham! Hopefully he gets many more holidays around here. His foster home has 9 dogs of their own and he fits right in the pack! He is going to start working on a bucket list of firsts that he can experience at their home due to him getting car sick. His first real holiday is already checked off the list!

Tink

Hi, I’m Tink! I’m a small gal who loves to lounge, I love napping with the cats, and I love snuggles. I’m a senior Chihuahua, and my special talent is that I can wave at you with my paw! I fit right into the pack in my house, I love the holidays and I love that I get to spend my forever in a loving home!

Charlie II

My name is Charlie II and I am one resilient guy! I may be blind and almost entirely deaf, but I still know my way around the house, I easily find my food bowl, crate, and I even wait by the door when I am done zooming in the yard! My favorite hobbies are napping, zooming, and I am always willing to dress for the occasion. I am a little love bug who loves to relax, and I even have a favorite blanket and napping place
