Cause for Canines is always looking for compassionate foster homes and dedicated volunteers. When you foster, we provide veterinary care, food, and supplies — you provide a safe home, stability, and love while the dog waits for a forever home.

Volunteers are also needed to help with adoption events, transports, and home visits. Whether you can open your home or lend your time, you can make a direct impact.

Our Process

1. Submit an application.
Complete our online foster/volunteer application.

2. Application Review & Vet Reference
A Cause for Canines coordinator will review your application and verify veterinary records (if applicable).

3. Home Visit
We will schedule a brief home visit (typically 15–30 minutes) to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

4. Match & Foster Placement
Once approved, we’ll work together to match you with a dog that fits your home and lifestyle.
